CWSL League Meeting

July 10^th, 2008

Attendance: Lori, Roberta, Keri, Megan, Bill

1. Treasurer’s Report

a. Roberta shopped for the best rate for the scholarship fund (1 year rate @ 2.96%)

b. Deposited $39.00 for balls sold to Revere League for practice balls

c. Bounced Check was deposited for $75.00 + $10.00 bounce fee

(Player refunded league $85.00)

d. No major changes on Treasurer’s Report. Updated version will be distributed at next League Meeting on 7/8/08.

2. All Star Game

a. Poland Springs will be sponsoring All Star Game

b. Shirt Colors: Red with white lettering & Royal blue with white lettering

c. Roberta will submit order

d. FOUR players, and ONE alternate should be selected by each CWSL team

e. Teams should know who CAN actually be at the All Star Game before voting, so those who can attend have an equal opportunity to play.

f. Two players from a team will play on Team Red and the other two players will play on Team Blue

g. Deadline to submit All Star Players is 7/4/08 via e-mail, phone, or person.

h. Events: Home Run Derby & Throwing Contest

i. Roberta & Lori making signs for All Star and Throwing Contest

j. Lori will be searching for the National Anthem

k. Trey (ump) will be looking for someone to sing National Anthem

3. Golf Tournament

a. Need to get our own balls

b. Roberta looking into definite answer with Helicopter ball drop

c. Prizes: $500 for closest to pin, Sox Tickets, book of scratch tickets looking for more donations

d. Looking for a hole in one sponsor

e. Lori has sponsor slips for Golf Tournament…Slips will be distributed at 6/11/08 games.

f. Need confirmation on prices / golfer

g. Will send out invites to last years golfers to let them know about this years tournament

h. The more help and sponsors, the better

i. Will firm up food menu and price

4. Fourth of July Parade

a. Not ordering inflatable balls

b. Going to have posters and water guns only

c. Truck is all set

d. Get polls from teams to see who will actually be available to attend the parade

e. Get barrels to fill with water for the water guns

f. Need Clark posters, the ones from last year could not be preserved

g. Need Riveira posters for this year

5. Banquet

a. Pick Food: Fried chicken, ziti, Italian sausage, garden salad, potato salad, cheese basket

b. Start taking pictures now for Banquet

6. Dugouts

a. Still need to paint trim of dugouts on Men’s League

b. Roof: Women’s waiting for weather and a generator to be available…Bill

c. Women’s Field: Homeplate needs to be replaced. If you step in the middle of it sinks in

VERY dangerous. Roberta will ask Rec. Committee about fixing?

d. Will submit roof costs to Rec. Committee

e. Roberta will also ask Rec. Committee bout hole next to the dugout at the Men’s Field

7. Web Site:

a. Roster will be up to date tomorrow

b. Team standings will be posted shortly

c. E-Mail scores & umpires for each game
