CWSL League Meeting Notes

  2. Treasurer’s Report
    1. Correction made for $235.00
    2. $10 return check fee à No loss to league, player refunded league
    3. Money was taken from Money Market to use for League funds, and was transferred back to MM
    4. Trey & Jimmy (umps) are being paid directly.  All other umps are being paid through Mike
    5. Absent Umps: If umpire is absent: Make up game may be scheduled for the following Thursday or look for volunteer to ump the game.

 

  1. Old Business
    1. Paint trim @ Men’s dugouts on Saturday 8/16/08 @ 9am
    2. Bill will repair roof for Women’s field 3rd base dugout
    3. Women’s home plate & first base is fine (Home plate: pull up and fill in hole, 1st base: pull up and level off dirt)
    4. Parade was a good time….Need more volunteers next year

 

  1. All Star Game (7/12/08 @ 5pm, activities start @ 5:30pm)
    1. We will be playing 7 innings NOT 9
    2. Shirts are in = Candi: Red, Mike: Blue
    3. Roberta will get key for the shed
    4. Posters for sign-up ß Lori & Roberta ($5 throwing contest & $5 homerun derby
    5. National Anthem: Natalie will ask daughter, back up cd in case we do not have a vocalist

* Homerun derby will consist of 10 outs

f.    Fence for homerun derby: Mark will make (Roberta’s husband)

g.   Boards for throwing contest more bracing à Mark & Roberta

h.   50/50 raffle à Natalie & Cindy

i.    Carl Pratt à local cable sports show, will be coming with camera for footage

j.    Pitchers for homerun derby à Jenny & Kathy Murphy

k.   Roberta will post directions for Steven’s Field in Plymouth

    1. Golf Meeting on 7/22/08 @ 6:30pm @ Roberta’s house
    2. Need golf net for balls à Roberta
    3. Raffle tickets are due 7/14/08 à Will collect from team rep Wednesday 7/16/08. The drawing will be done @ tournament
    4. Will be purchasing a gift certificate for the pilot of the ball drop
    5. Hole in one insurance à Keri / Roberta
    6. Need more sponsors and players than we do volunteers
    7. Helpers: nnie, Barb, Chery, Hoyt, Brooke & friend, Lori, Roberta, Christine, Sylva, Candi, Jenn, Fran
    8. Team Incentives: 5pts = Team of golfers (4) must be whole group, no partials for points

4 pts = Sponsor > $100

3 pts = Hole Sponsor ($100)

2 pts = Donation under $100 or any raffle item

 

  1. New Business (On the table for next year) 2009 Agenda
    1. Tie or resume game if tied when called for darkness ß Will discuss to implement next season
    2. Ranking of standings in rules
    3. Injury participation in 1/3 of the games to play in the playoffs otherwise at the discretion of the league
    4. Speed up rule: (possible to implement with CWSL) Once the winning team has hit the slaughter rule in an inning, and they are continuing to go through their batting order over and over…The winning team will take the field and the losing team will automatically start their batting order.
