Discussions, Changes and Votes

Election of Officers were confirmed:  President:  Kerri Coffin,

Vice President:  Kelly Musial, Treasurer:  Roberta Dirado, Secretary:  Lorraine Rooney

 

The Webmaster for the CWSL will no longer have to pay a registration fee.

It was voted on by the board to waive the fee and it will be added to the By Laws.

 

A new team is forming, no sponsor yet.  Kathy Donahue is Team Rep.

Sponsorship for Plane Janes will be changing to BM Landscaping, Inc. 

Sponsorship for Halifax Pizza will be changing.

 

New Membership Ideas

·       Bill Beard brought in some information about the Men’s League draft and informed us about how it works.

It was discussed but the board all agreed that it will not be appropriate for our league at this time.

·       We will set the registration date at the next meeting. If there are any players that do not want to play on the team they played for last year, they will have an opportunity to see what spots are opened on other teams after the registration day.

 

Advertising

·       We will continue this year to put ads in the papers to seek out new ball players and/or new teams.

·       We will also like everyone to be active in posting up flyers in each of the surrounding towns.

 

Changing of the By-Laws

·       The executive board will now be a separate entity from the regular board members/team reps.

·       The Election for voting in new/existing officers will now be in September instead of October

·       The Golf/Scholarship information was added to the By-Laws

·       The information on waiving the registration for the executive officers was added in

·       If a game is not rescheduled with in 48 hours both teams will forfeit

·       The prize money for first the first place team was added in.

Umpires

It was discussed once again as it is every year on raising the pay for the umpires.

Since we are not sure exactly why we have trouble getting them to show, it was not decided on whether or not we will raise their pay or not.

 

Lorraine will contact Mike McKinney and find out the root cause of the umpires not showing up for scheduled games and we will discuss possible solutions.  Bill Beard added that he will check with some guys from the Men’s League and see if they’d  be interesting in umpiring.

 

Fundraising Ideas

It is a possibility that we will sell CWSL coozies this year through out the season.

We can sell them at games, All Star Game, Golf Tournament etc.

They would be designed to be neutral for any player or fan.

 

Accounts to be transferred

Roberta Dirado is our new treasurer and it was voted on that she will transfer any of our existing accounts/CDs into Sovereign Bank accounts.  Of course, the scholarship accounts will remain scholarship accounts-for sole intent of scholarship use.

 

It was a very successful meeting and we did get a lot accomplished.
