Meeting Notes: 4/1/08 6:40 pm Start

1. Umpire – Mike from USSSA attended the meeting.

a. There isn’t any rule changes that will affect CWSL this year.

b. $20 per team for this year

c. Mike needs a list of team names, coaches contact info

d . Discussion came up about the black on the plate. And Mike said that the black isn’t part isn’t part of the plate. So if the ball hits the black it should be a ball. Although it will be the umpires call. Mike will take with the umpires to reinforce this rule.

2. Motion made for make-up games: FINAL DECISION with all teams in agreement => IF there is rain date, teams will play the following Thursday, unless the two teams can agree on an earlier date (Thursday or Sunday).

3. Secretary’s / Treasurer’s Report: Will be posted on CWSL Website

4. Old Business:

a. Balls Ordered from Mike McKenny: Will be delivered in 2 weeks.

b. Practice Balls $39: For teams who would like to purchase some

c. Ice Packs ordered / delivered: Teams will get 4 each for the games

d. Scorebooks: To be distributed to teams at next meeting for first game

* Official names must be used in the team scorebooks / rosters so that opposite team is aware of “actual” players.

e. New Purchase Field update: The CWSL had voted on putting money forth to the Men’s League for the building of a new field on Purchase Street. CWSL has been unable to get in touch with Tony (Men’s League) and there have been no new updates reported.

f. New Team Update: SEVEN teams total: FINAL

* CWSL will NOT be playing the 4^th of July week and NOT playing Monday à Memorial Day.

*PRACTICE SCHEDULE for CWSL will be sent out by Lori Ford

g. Field Permit Update: Field permit request sent 2 months ago, awaiting this Thursday’s Rec. Meeting for approval.

h. Pre-Season Tournament w/ Bourne: Game is 5/10/08

* Field available = Purchase Street @ 9am

* Men’s & Women’s Fields = @ 1pm

*Need update from Bourne League to play, and gather people willing to play from CWSL to see how many teams we can form

i. Lori continuing to work on the CWSL Game Schedule

j. Banquet Update: Date and deposit all set for DJ & Hall on 9/20/08 @ the Middleboro Elks Club

*We will be looking over the menu at next League meeting

k. All Star Game Update: Steven’s Field reserved for 7/12/08 @ 5:30pm. Berta will get quotes for shirts

l. Golf Tournament Update: Possibility that we will be co-sponsoring with Men’s League. Have not heard back from Men’s League

*Men want to play at a different resort.

*Awaiting feedback from Men’s League

m. Field Clean-Up Day:

* Date has been changed to 4/19/08 @ 10am

* All teams welcome, spread the word

*Need: rakes, wheelbarrows, supplies, paint trays, rollers, trash bags, etc.

* Donated: 6 gallons of green paint & 12 rollers (from Aubuchon)

5. New business:

a. Registration = $75

b. Confirmed team colors

* Bridgewater = Pink

* Clark Remodeling = Grey & Black

* Plympton-Gail Force Fence (formerly Moore Dogs) = R. Blue & White

* Mama Mia’s = Green, Red, & White

* Pavestone = Maroon & White

* Upland = Navy Blue & White

* BM Landscaping = Red & White

c. Registration, New Players, Who needs players: Bridgewater team will need more players. Roberta will forward list of interested players to Jennifer.

6. July 4^th Parade:

* Will further discuss at next meeting

7. For next meeting:

* Notify scholarship applicants of awards and declines

* Scholarship Meeting will be held on 4/22/08

* Deadline for applications formerly 4/3/08 BEING PUSHED BACK UNTIL 4/19/08.
